Can a hiatal hernia cause chest and back pain?

Sent to Health Experts June 18 04:31 PM

For about 3 weeks I have woken up in pain, hard to breathe and the pain is under my right breast and into my back. I have an peptic ulcer for which I take nexium. I had a endoscopy this morning and was told I have a hiatal hernia and some carofate has been prescribed. Two weeks ago when I went to the doctor, I was given steriods as they thought it was a inflammed lung. Last week I wentto a different doctor and she said it was neuropathy. The only test taken was the first one and I hads a chest x-ray. What should I do, can the diagnosis I got today be the cause of the pain? Thanks
