Yes, tooth decay can cause the swelling of the lymphnodes on the jaw line , and under the jaw. Oral thrush does not make lymphnodes swell. Causes of the oral thrush are: using corticosteroid drugs and immunosuppressants, diabetes, stress, HIV infection, use of antibiotic. Your health care provider can prescribe Mycostatin suspension to you for oral thrush. The swelling of the lymphnodes probably will disappear after treatment of your teeth for teeth decay.

I also had chicken pox for the first time last may, that is when I noticed my glands being swollen. I just teeth fixed last week and have been taking Nystatin oral suspension for my thrush. I have had 2 HIV tests, one last August and one in March of this year, both negative. Could I possibly have cancer? What if the thrush never goes away? I have been very stressed over the last 2 years to the point of seeing a therapist. I often stress myself so much that I lose my appetite. I have had a CT Scan and ultrasound of the areas and am scheduled for another CT scan. I just don't know what to do.

Probably you do not have cancer since you had CT scan and Ultrasound of the areas and they are negative. The cause of your oral thrush is probably stress. You need to eat a well balanced diet with fruit and vegetables. You can take one multivitamin and mineral combination capsul or tablet a day to strengthen your immune system. Taking enough rest and enough sleep also important to strengthen your immune system.
