Hi

Reason for these tests (amongst a raft of others: see below) was to try to ascertain the reason for repeated chest infections/unusual responses to medication / slow recovery from illness'(eg. severe prolonged Toxoplasmosis as child)fatigue/ pain/ skin inflammation (sun, skin products) etc
In the normal range were CD56, Lym, CD19, CD3,C3, C4, T protein, Albumin, IgG, IgA, ENA antibodies, Anti-ds DNA negative.
The only other results out of normal ranges were:IgM 2.68 (0.4-2.5)and ANA positive @160: speckled, IgG4 subclass missing.
Saw an immunologist who focused on testing (RAST)for common inhaled allergins. All tests negative. I aksed about the CD4 CD8 stuff and was shrugged off.
Re HIV test. Yes I think it was done a couple of years ago. Negative. Risk should be tiny though as both my husband and I (married 25 years) have only ever had one sexual partner (each other!) and my problems predate marriage. I've never had a blood transufion or used drugs IV or otherwise.
My GP has arrived at a conclusion of Fibromyalgia. But, I am curious more than anything re the CD4/CD8 stuff.

So, would the low CD4/CD8 ratio basically mean that I do get an immune response to infection etc, but it is slower than normal?
