One night I woke up with a man attempting anal sex. Once I felt the penetration I woke and no other sexual activity took place. The man (for lack of a better word) stated that he has tested negative for the HIV virus in August however his partner has tested positive. My question is what is the likliehood of contracting the HIV virus through a man who made entry and that's all?

Your chances are slim. Since the virus is spread either by blood or by semen and neither took place the chances are slim at best.

I would get checked in three months to b on the safe side and set your mind at ease but at this point I would have no concerns nor consider you high risk.
