is that the only conclusion? how can that happen if the condom did not break. what are the chances a man can catch hiv at the same time. i did take an hiv test as well. (test results are not in yet) i started taking doxycycline yesterday, when can i have sex with my girlfriend?

Condoms are NOT 100% - although the significantly decrease the risk of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.

I would advise not having any unprotected sexual contact with anyone (including your girlfriend) until you have completed treatment.

It is also possible to have contacted HIV, and test negative at this point - you would need to be tested again in 6 months to be 100% certain that you had not contated HIV that you could transmit to your girlfriend.

I'm not sure what the bumps might be - they would need to be examined to determine that these were not related to an infection.
