Reply to Family Physician's Post: well it was after sports at the gym club. i met a guy at the sauna of the gym i already saw before, very cute, a young professional in the 20s-30s.
I was horny after working out and so was he. We started marsturbating each other. and then I closed my eyes as he stood up and positioning between my legs to masturbate me. I didn't realized immediately when he sat on me and making my penis penetrate him. Although it felt good, I almost immediately took off my penis out of his anus. I swiped myself with the towel and went right away to the shower to clean myself and my penis intensively. I realized after that that there was some taces of blood on the towel so i assumed he bled a little from his anus. I freaked out as i know how contagious blood can be.

When we left, outside the gym, I talked with him telling him that what we just did was not safe at all and that he bled a little bit. I was so nervous that i don't remember what he told me except he was fine etc...

To summarize:

- short insertive anal penetration
- some traces of blood on the towel when i swiped my penis
- showered for 10 minutes afterwards
- talking with the guy to determine his riskyness group. he's a very straight acting banker/bi-looking but the easiness with which he accepted receptive anal penetration freaks me out.

do you need some more details to help make a better evaluation of the situation?

i plan to look for him tomorrow a the gym and try to get more info about his serologic status.

Thanks,
vinnyc

hello Nurse Susan,

I already happened to come across the statistics you mention.
I was more concerned about the presence of blood that might have come into contact with my penis and potentially be contagious.

Be informed that my penis is normal and does not show any irritation, sore or cuts.

I was more concerned about the addition of risk the traces of blood in addition of the short-time insertive anal penetration might have had.

I assume the blood was his and not mine as my penis doesn't show any cuts or wounds.

I am aware there are no statistics about my case, but my knowledge is that blood is the most contagious body fluid and it would require to come if not on my blood itself, at least on a fragilized muqueuse.

What do you think?

Thanks,
vinny

last question... sorry with this. first we don't know if he was HIV+ or not. Secondly, the amount was only a trace (a small line of blood on the towel i used to swipe off my penis) i noticed only afterward.

In the assumption it went into contact with me, i am not really concerned about the contact with the skin, but with the head of my penis which is not skin, but a muqueuse (this is a french term, not sure about the english term sorry ;-).

A friend who is a doctor said there is very litlle risk and Nurse Lindie here also said hte chances are extremely thin.

I will get some information about prophylaxis as tomorrow will be 48h.

Thanks again,
vinny

Hi Vinnie,

You are right, we dont know if he WAS HIV+, but for the purposes of this chat, I am assuming he was. If he was not HIV+, then you definately need not worry about that, but for this chat, I am assuming he was.

If you are circumsized, you have somewhat less risk than if you were not circumsized. But even then, the risk as we have seen is very small. If you are circumsized, the head of the penis becomes as normal skin, that is why the risk is lower.

I would reccomend talking to a provider who can write you a precription for prophylaxis if you decide you need it. IF you take the prophylaxis, I would get a baseline HIV test, to make sure you are negative now, then one again 3 months later, and then one at 6 months. Then one at a year.

Even if you dont get the prophylaxis you can still test at that schedule.

Sincerely,

Susan
