I came down with a cold around the end of August. After four weeks with it, went to the doctor. I had a sinus infection. My glands in my throat, under my jaw, have been swollen ever since. Some times of the day are more difficult to swallow than others. I have seasonal allergies, but this has never happened in other years. What could be causing my glands to remain swollen?

Hi

This is not normal. Please return to your doctor and explain what is happening with your lymph nodes. Usually lymph nodes will resolve three weeks after an infection is treated. If you had the infection a long time, it might take longer.

There may still be infection in there somewhere. Our lymph nodes get big when they are needed to help fight infection or virus. If they are still enlarged, something else may be going on.

Hope this helps,

Kerry
