i'm having a steady pain plus a shooting pain in my far left abdomen area. I pain is mainly a pinky finger size area starting next to the hip bone going towards the center area. What is in that area that might cause this pain?

You don't state if this is upper or lower left side.

Pain here most often suggests a problem in the lower colon, where food waste is expelled. Possible causes include inflammatory bowel disease or an infection in the colon known as diverticulitis.

  • Crohn's disease

  • Diverticulitis
  • Upper left side..It's uncommon to experience pain here. When you do, it may suggest a colon, stomach, spleen or pancreas problem.
