I have a question concerning genital herpes--can you help?

I am in a new relationship with a women and she has just been diagnosed with genital herpes II. We are very concerned about the best way to proceed with sexual activity. She got this from a past relationship over a year ago---hasn't noticed any sort of outbreaks since. She went to the doctor for what she thought was a yeast infection and was told about the herpes. I have read that it is tougher for it to be transmitted from a woman to a man when there are no sores visible. What is the best way to proceed with sexual activity from now on if I do not have the virus?
