I have had an E-Coli infection for the last 3 wks. It started as a UTI- I started taking Bactrim- that didn't work, so I went to dr and he prescribed me Leviquin. when that didn't work the dr cultured my urine and found it to be E-Coli. He put me on 250mg Cipro twice a day, it wasn't working so they upped it to 500mg twice a day. THAT didn't work, so they cultured me again and found +2 bacteria still in my urine and some abnormal red blood cells. So they again changed my antibiotic to Tequin. That seemed to do the trick- but I still have the urgent feeling in my Urethra and still pee quite frequently. I went to a Urologist-he cultured my urine-found nothing-so he scoped my bladder(OWE!!!) it looked normal. I have 3 more days of Tequin, but still have the urgency. I am about ready to pull my hair out! Imagine 3 wks of THAT! What could be wrong? Lisa Waters-Austin,TX
