It sounds as though he has a lower gastrointestional disorder and if the OTC products have not been successful in helping with the constant diarrhea it is best that he be seen again so they can do a fecal occult test to determine the cause as it can be due to a bacterial infection or internal parasite as well which can cause chronic diarrhea.

Reply to cheryl kauffman's Post: I already knew your answer, but thought there might be an over the counter medication that could be tried since the drs. are booked for weeks at a time, and also the disclaimer saying this site is more for entertainment than factual, made me a bit upset to think it is even on with the medical professionals.
Sorry, but I was really looking for some help!

There are many OTC medications that can help with this but it seems as though you have tried them all so that is why I did not suggest one and feel he is more in need of a internal medicine physician to determine the gastrointestional disorder which is causing the chronic diarrhea. It could be related to his colon so even though they are booked for weeks it is best to get him an appointment so this can be addressed. Besides adding bulking agents to his diet that is the best route to go. I am sorry that it states this is for entertainment but experts here are medical professionals which is why it is listed that way online.
