why am i bleeding for 15 days while on birth control?

I started taking yasmin, and my dr told me to take consecutively as if i was taking seaonale, and i have been bleeding for 15 days and it keeps getting hevier and heavier. i have told my dr but he said just stop taking the pills. since i have stopped i am bleeding more.
