I always wash fruits and vegetables - for fear of listeria, toxoplasmosis and other food bourne illnesses. Now I'm upset because I just read that prepackaged bagged salads can be contaminated and people should rewash them.

I eat Fresh Express Riviera lettuce every day and found it a great convenience because I didn't have to wash them - at least I thought. It says on the package that the lettuce is already washed but now I read that it doesn't matter and it should still be washed at home.

Any ideas? Is my baby at risk?

Hello Customer (name blocked for privacy), Your concern is understandable. As I researched for answers it occured to me that you are most likely using a DOLE product. Thanks but I don't think Fresh Express is a Dole Product - in fact I they're owned by Chiquita.
