For the past 2 days, my left breast has been very sore and hot to the touch. It feels like it did when I nursed my children, but I haven't done that for 7 years! Could this be an infection?

It can either be from a hormonal change or yes an infection within your mammory glands. It is best if this is a very abnormal symptom for you to have it checked out by your physician as with infection you would need antibiotics and they do need to do a mammogram to determine there is no other underlying cause as well.
