Classical symptoms of urine infection in men has to be treated by a doctor owing to the more complicated arrangement of the urinary system. If the problem was a minor cystitis drinking lots of fluids would have diluted the urine and reduced the burning sensation.

So I would certainly take a urine sample to your doctor to request a bacterial culture, however it may be an idea to check for the presence of glucose in the urine too. Undiagnosed diabetes causes lethargy whilst at the same time predisposing the patient to urinary tract infections.

I hope this answers your question.
