My six year old daughter started getting Uti's when she was five. Sixteen months later she has now had her tenth or eleventh uti? I am losing count, my question is that she has seen the same speacilist four times, they found nothing, she was hospitalized about six weeks ago for high fever, dehydration, vommitting, and uti. They always seem to find high levels of ecoli, prescribe the same med. and it comes back within a days to weeks. I always know when she has a uti again, its when the bed wetting starts and she can't make it to the bathroom during the day. She also has constipation problems. I am really worried about this reoccuring problem, she is only six. I am in desperate need to find an answer why they keep coming back. The last time she wet the bed, five days ago it smelt like dead fish and was a dark yellow to brown color on the bed sheets. I contacted her Dr, asap and she took a urine sample and found high ecoli again. She is currently looking into the test that were done in Aug and Sept of 2005 by a speacilist she saw. Then she is also trying to find a new speacilist for her to go to. I am hesitant to give her the same med. the speacilist kept prescribing, for the fact that the uti came back a week after her med. was finished, I am at the end of my rope, don't know what to do and where to go to find out the problem, any help you may offer would be very appreciated from myself, and espeacilly my daughter. thank you for your time.
