my husband is a type1 diabetic and has already lost two toes on his left foot . he went to the emergency room last sunday because his foot was hurting and looked like a corn or something on the outside of his right foot close to the pinky toe. the doctor said it was just a bruise and sent him home. the very next day he went a different er and they said it was an infection in his foot and gave him an antiobotic and a blood blister formed in 24 hrs. my main question is should the first er he went to should they have given him an antiobotic to avoid any infection that now occured in 24 hrs after he was there.?
