Good evening,

You will need to soak it several times a day in warm, soapy water and apply a triple antibiotic ointment. You can also try to gently lift the embedded part of the nail and slip some waxed dental floss or even cotton underneath it. Change this when you soak your toe. If the infection is really bad, you might want to see your doctor about taking a round of antibiotics. If the pain is bad, and it doesn't seem to be healing, your doctor can also do a partial nail plate avulsion to remove that area and let it grow back.

Reply to Lori's Post: i've already tried this so I believe i gotta go to a podologist then because my toe is just not healing. There is no ingrown nail because I already checked it & my toe is just infected and full with puss. Seems like a my toe got bit by a bee or something. What kind of antibiotics would you recommend?

Good evening,

In that case, my suggestion would be to see your podiatrist before it gets any worse. Neosporin is a good topical antibiotic ointment, but it sounds like you may need an oral antibiotic now.

Reply to Lori's Post: Thank you for the help, However all the suggestions you made couldn't help me. I've already tried neosporin and had already scheduled an appointment with a doctor to help. Thank you so much anyways
