my son has mrsa, high growth in a knee wound, it was surigally debrided 2 days ago, since than he has been on keflex, today the doctor said due to the fact he has no insurance he couldn't readmint him to the hospital and gave us a script for Bactrim DS. Vanc does work good for MRSA but it is usually used on the worst infections. I don't think the Keflex would do any good since the majority of MRSA that I have seen has been resistant to it. Bactrim DS is great. I don't think that your son should be admitted unless the infection continues to get worse. The doctor should have the wound culture results to guide the use of certain antibiotics. If this answer helps please hit the accept button. Thank you.
