I was tested for gentials herpes and the results came back negative. that was about two months ago and now i have another sore. i thought i was getting a yeast infection until today when the sore appeared. My question is if i was tested and the results came back negative even though the first time i did not have a sore would the test be accurate or do you have to have a outbreak.I have never had an apnormal pap-smear or any problems in the past and have had the same partner for two years and either one of us has had gential herpes or any sign.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

The test results would still show a positive reading even without a breakout so I feel this could be more related to infection but not an STD. If you have not had any abnormal readings from your pap smears then most likely this is not related to an STD. I would recommend that you be seen while the sore is apparent so they can see the physical symptoms that you are seeing. This could also be related to a bacterial skin infection as well if this has appeared a second time. It is entirely possible that you or your clothing has come into contact with something that you are allergic to so these are some things to take into consideration, from all you are saying I do not think that this is anything related to an STD as being seen two months ago there would have been an abnormality in your bloodwork or the pap smear.
