Reply to Cheryl K.'s Post: No, no injury or trauma caused at all that I could attribute this to. It became sore on Sunday and is still sore today. When I press into the muscle on the left side of my jaw, I can feel a hard type of knot and feel a little minor sensitivity from it. I've had a minor sore throat the last few days as well

It sounds like you have infection in your mouth, and you should be seen by your dentist as I think it is turning into infection and they need to be able to examine your gums. It could also be the start of TMJ which can become extremely painful if not addressed. I would recommend that you see your dentist as soon as possible so they can do a thorough examination and x-ray to see what is going on within your jaw line and they may want to refer you to a periodontist.
