Not in most cases, this virus is a bacterial virus that many women carry in the gastrointestional tract, urinary tract, or genital tract and is usually the result from a weakened immunity or chronic illness. Then you can carry the virus and sometimes show no symptoms at all. It is usually diagnosed through bloodwork as a secondary bacterial infection resulting from an illness but it is unlikely that this resulted from your IUD unless you had an infection while the IUD was in place.
