Hi:
Being that you are currently on an antibiotic, the chances are that the bumps on your head are not harboring a bacterial infection. This doesn't mean that you don't have an infection going on though. You may have a viral or fungal infection occuring.
The hair follicles do become inflamed and it isn't unusual to get pimples on the scalp. However, the infection in these would be bacterial and forms around the sebaceous gland and hair bulb.
Tinea Capitis and Tinea Favosa are fungal infections of the scalp. Capitis is noted by the small red bumps. These bumps will spread and the hair will become brittle, dry and eventually break off. Favosa is noted as having dry, sulphur yellow, crust like caps (scabs) and are distinguished through their odor. The wounds can be painful and if they scar, you will notice small bald spots that will be pink, red, or white.
Each of these are highly contagious and will not go away on their own. I would suggest that you go to the doctor as soon as possible in order that the bumps be diagnosed and treated properly.
To have this infection doesn't indicate that a person is "dirty". It can be picked up off the back of seats at a movie theater, at swimming pools, etc. Key note here is that it is highly contagious.
If this is what you have the antibiotic that you are currently taking will not treat this; and, this is why it is continuing to spread.
