While the predominant symptoms of Lyme's disease are not related to the abdomen, uncommonly the following symptoms may occur
  • Diarrhea,
  • Constipation,
  • Irritable bowel and/or bladder,
  • Upset stomach,
  • Abdominal pain,
  • Nausea,
  • Unexplained Weight Gain or Loss,
  • Anorexia, Loss of Appetite,
  • Food Intolerance and Sensitivities,
  • and Gas and Bloating.
Blood and mucus in stools are not symptoms of Lymes' disease, more likely a stomach infection OR maybe inflammatory bowel disease etc.

Reply to Gaurav Gupta's Post: Can this be a symptom of high blood pressure? Does blood and mucous in the stool usually point to cancer? If he has an infection in his stomach what other symptoms would he have? We will go to the doctor. What types of tests do you recommend?

No,
IT is not a symptom of high blood pressure..
It can point to a cancer of the rectum, but that is a rare cause of this symptom
For a stomach infection the other symptoms could include fever, pain abdomen, vomiting, bodyaches etc. OF course none of these are necessary for the diagnosis..
Yes, You need to go to the doctor, preferably today... and the tests recommended would include a stool examination at the very least and an antibiotic prescription a(most likely) . If this has happened before or is happening for along time, then further tests maybe needed like a colonoscopy endoscopy etc., but that would depend on the clinical examination and detailed history
