It actually depends on how many fluids you intake each day as some people will urinate every couple of hours and some will only urinate two to three times daily. If you have an increase in your urine output and have not changed the amount of liquids you are intaking then it can be the early signs of a urinary tract infection or bladder infection if the amount of urine has increased.

I did change my intake habit. I now drink at least 32 ounces of water which I never did before but I notice now I have to urinate within an hour or 2. Is this normal

Yes this is perfectly normal so I would not worry, if you have increased your water intake then that is a good sign that your kidneys are being flushed properly.
