Everytime my boyfriend and I have intercourse I experience an awful odor several hours later. What is causing this? Is it Bacterial Vaginosis? How can it be treated?

Optional Information:
Age: 41

Already Tried:
Nothing but normal bathing....it can take a day or two for this to go away completely. Then, it comes right back the next time we have intercourse. I am so frustrated. We are getting married in the future, and this is MORE then troublesome.

This can yes be the sign of Bacterial Vaginosis and antibiotics are the key to treating this, so I would highly recommend that you be seen by your physician to allow them to prescribe antibiotics and to do a pelvic examination. If this is only showing after intercourse then it would not relate to a yeast infection and should be treated by antibiotics.

I would suggest that you try amoxicillin or Cipro as they are best for this type of infection and Cipro is one of the strongest on the market.
