What would cause lower left side soreness on my back? It isn't muscular, just a dull soreness in my lower left back?

This could be due to a kidney infection if it does not feel muscular. I would try to drink as many fluids as possible, especially cranberry juice as this will help to flush the kidneys better. If this continues or seems to grow worse you would want to be seen to have a urinalysis performed to see if antibiotics are needed but it sounds as though you have the beginnings of a kidney infection so monitor this closely for any signs of worsening and push fluids as much as possible.

Yes this can also occur without any other symptoms but in time it will progress and urinary pressure and pain will be felt as well as some possible blood in the urine.
