My daughter has just had a miscarriage in London but requires additional surgery as the baby;s heart is still beating but she is still bleeding. What kind of surgery does this entail and how dangerous is it to her future of childbearing?

Optional Information:
Female , Age: 23

Her doctor in London gave her the option of waiting @ four weeks or having this surgery. I need to know what kind of surgery he is talking about and how risking it is to her. Could this affect her ability to have children in the future?

This most likely will require a D & C if they feel there is no chance of survival and performed correctly and as soon as possible there should be no danger and will not hurt her chances of future childbearing. If she were to wait then it could allow infection to set in which could cause further or future problems.
