I have a mild mitro valve prolapse. I am getting a tatoo and want to know if I should take antibiotics before the procedure like I do for the dentist

looking on the internet. My doctor says no need to take it yet other people who have MVP say I should

I would say that it wouldn't hurt and you probably should take the antibiotics just in case. Infection is common after getting a tattoo. If your doctor won't prescribe the antibiotic then consult with another doctor. I'm sure that you will find one that will. Make sure to print the below link and show this to your doctor and see if he/she will change his mind.
