i recently got an STD test from the local clinic, the test for chlamadya and gonorhea was extremely painful, they used a q-tip or swab and inserted it imto the penis causing great pait and discomfort, since the test, i have experienced tremendous pain when urinating, and its almost unbearable to go to the bathroom and urinate, i have been in pain for 4 days now and it hasn't gotten better, is this normal or is there something wrong?

Reply to James's Post: no there is no blood in my urine, and i have not been treated for any STD's i am waiting on the results of my tests. i originally went in for tests because i saw a bump on the head of my penis, the doctor said it was nothing, but since then i have broken out with some type of hives or bumps on my scrotum, and there is a pus filled bump on the inside of my penis, it seems like i keep getting new bumps everyday, i am very scared, and i hope that i don't have genital herpes. before the std test, there was no pain when urinating. so far i haven't had a discharge from the penis, i don't have a fever, and i don't feel sick. what do u think is wrong with me? do u think i have genital herpes? or is it something else? please please help me i am very discouraged.

You do need to go back to the doctor and have this checked. There could have been an accident when they took the culture or you may just now be having symptoms of an infection. If infection is ruled out then you may require further evaluation of the inside of your penis using a special, small, scope. This will be able to tell if you have damage to your penis caused when the doctor/nurse took the culture. If this answer helps please hit the accept button. Thank you.

Reply to James's Post: i need a little more information please, i was told that genital herpes bumps are a collection of bumps and are very tender and itchy. the pus filled bump on the inside of my penis is not tender at all, and it does not itch, and so far it is only one bump. the original bump on the head of my penis is not tender either but looks like a chancre sore. on my scrotum it is small hive type bumps that are irratable.i am vey nervous and scared and no one has been able to give me a definite answer, do u think it is genital herpes? wouldn't i have a fever or be sick, or wouldn't the bump itch and be hard and sore? please help me some more, i feel like my life is ending, please help me.

First, calm down. Your life isn't ending. The only way to tell if this is herpes is to see your doctor again so he can swab any fluid that is around the bump to test for herpes. Herpes is a very common virus. This could just be a localized infection. It's hard to tell without a culture. The bumps on your scrotum could have nothing to do with this at all. If you want, you can email me a picture of these bumps for better identification. If not, see your doctor again to have this checked out. Thank you.
