Reply to Dr AMIT MUNJAL's Post: I have been lifting weights for a few months and thought that I might have done it in the last few weeks. It has occurred once and gone away. then again in the last week and a half. Have not noticed the little lump in the past. if pressed, there is a clear discharge. very slight, not even a tear size.

Hi

A lump in the male breast need not always invite fear. Malignancy or cancer in the male breast is relatively rare.

This seems to be an abscess caused by infection as it is painful and with a discharge.

The key to the diagnosis is an FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology) where the cells from the lump are taken out using a needle and examined under the microscope to verify the exact kind of cells making up the lump. If such examination does not clarify the cause, one would require a biopsy, which takes a little tissue from the lump to be examined.
