staph infection

I have a bump around my private area where I usually shave. This morning it was small and now it is rather large. I am very concerned because two people at my place of employment have had staph infections. Could this be a staph infection? Should I go to the immediate care center right after work or should I try maybe going home and soaking in a hot bath to see if it goes down?
