I cut my leg with a power saw. 2 1/2 in long 1/8 in deep. I gave myself first aid and it seems to be doing well. However, I cannot seem to stop a clear liquid that is gently seeping from the wound. Is this normal?

Optional Information:
Male , Age: 74

Already Tried:
cleaned it with peroxide, applied Antibiotic cream and am keeping gauze on it.

It could just be your body's way of clearing out any infection or debris that may be in your wound. It also is sticky and helps with scab formation and further healing. 1/8 inch isn't too deep, depending on where on your leg you cut. If you think the wound isn't closing, it may help it to be sutured closed.   So the clear fluid should be ok as long as it doesn't smell, turn yellow or green and the wound doesn't turn red and "angry" looking. These would be signs of infection.

Another consideration is... you may need to have a tetanus booster, depending on when you had your last booster. If it was longer than 5 years, I would recommend having it done soon.

I hope this helps! Good luck! Remember safety first when working around power tools! :) Take care!
