i've had a dry spot in my eyes for the past two weeks

i've had a dry spot in my eyes for the past two weeks now and it feels like a piece of dust or something stuck in there. I've flushed my eyes repeatedly and used visine to clean it and it's not any better. Could it be something else more serious that just a piece of dust?
