Can I use the drug "Bactroban" on a sore in my ear canal?

Sent to Health Experts August 13 2006 at 7:21 AM

I have a small sore in my ear canal; feels like a pimple. No real discharge but last night when I was touching it, it flattened and a very tiny piece of white stuff came out like what is in a pimple. Today it is not as sore. I wear hearing aids but I have left the left one out for 2 days. Will it hurt to put a dab of "Bactroban" on it in case it is an infection until I see my doctor?

Optional Information:
Female , Age: 67

Already Tried:
keeping it clean and dry; avoiding my left hearing aid.
