well this is kind of embarassing. a couple of days ago I noticed a lump
on my labia and now there are a lot of them and they are painful
I am absinant.... but a survivor of sexual abuse in childhood
I don't know what it could be..... do you think it is serious thanks   Karin

Hello

These could be blocked hair follicles, or blocked oil glands. Sometimes they are known as sebaceous cysts. Since they are lumps and not sores, I wouldn't think they would be herpes. You do need to see your doctor however, because they may be a staph infection of some sort which would possibly be the reason they seem to be spreading.

Try some moist heat, a warm bath, and wash with an antibacterial soap. If they start to drain, a dab of antibiotic ointment. These things might help sooth the areas until you can be seen.
