my girlfriend has been experiencing burning during sex for some time now. the last time i was tested for an std was november and i was negative. i have only been with her since. she says that she consulted a dr and was told it was a bacterial infection caused by a UTI. the thing is that not post sex i develop a slight rash in that region. is it possible she got an infection through a UTI (non sexually) and that she then spread it to me through unprotected sex? my worst fear is that she had intercouse with an infected person and then passed it to me but doesnt want to admit to it. i want to consult a dr before i go further with assumptions of our relationship. thank you
