I got a boil for the first time about a month ago. I got it on my buttock. After going to
the emergency and having the doctor lance it-----I began to receive more boils. I got
maybe 3-4 more on my buttocks. I also got two under my arm. I have little ones under
my chin. I'm not sure why I keep getting all of these boils. What are boils indicative of?
And how do you stop them from coming?

Boils are caused by bacteria, usually of the staphylococcus family, sometimes MRSA, which means they are resistant to many antibiotics frequently used to treat the boils. At this point, the bacteria has spread to other areas of your body and caused infection there. You need to return to your doctor, have a culture done of the pus in the boils, and a sensitivity to see what antibiotic they are sensitive to. You will need to be on oral antibiotic therapy to take care of the infection.

You can't completely eliminate the possibility of getting boils agin, but you can decrease the chances somewhat by being sure to clean all scratches and scrapes with soap and water and apply OTC antibiotic ointment, avoiding constricting clothing, and eating a healthy diet. (Sugar tends to promote bacteria growth.)
Also, it is important not to squeeze the boils, as this can cause them to spread. See the following link for more information. www.mayoclinic.com/health/boils-and-carbuncles/DS00466/DSECTION=1
