Question

My boyfriend has had various infections over the past ...

Sent to Health Experts August 21, 2006 10:35 a.m.

My boyfriend has had various infections over the past 6 weeks. I am worried. It started out with an abscess on his knee that was very painful and needed 2 antibiotics to make it heal. He then got severe pink eye which again required 2 different antibiotics. This past week he got an anal abscess that was drained and caused bad pain. Today he went to the Dr. to check out the abscess which is healing however he now has an ear infection and has to go on yet another antibiotic. He is 34, heterosexual, normally in great health, not overweight and exercises regularly. Any suggestions...Dr. says it is just all coincidental???? Thank you

It may be coincidental provided that he does not have low white blood cell count and his CD4 or T4 white blood cells in one millilitre of blood between 500 and 1500. If he has that than his immune system in good shape and the infection he is having is coincidental.

apparently the white blood cell count is good. Any reason for the cause??? Have you ever seen these symptoms related to each other. Can stress be a factor and what is the main cause of an anal abscess???

ACCEPTED Check Mark

If the body's infection fighter cells that is CD4 cells or T4 cells is above 500 then it is just coincidental if T4 below 500 then it is may be some weakness in the immune system and needs to be strengthen by a well balanced diet and enough rest and enough sleep.

These symptoms appears to be not related to each other

Stress can be a factor such as weakening the immune system and also may be dropping the T4 cell count below the 500.
