First, I recommend that you have a complete physical examination. You could have an underlying physical problem e.g. diabetes, a liver problem, kidney problem, H. pylori infection in your gastrointestial tract, candida overgrowth, or some form of cancer that is causing you to exude an odor. Just a little added interesting information: There are dogs who can sniff a person's skin and these dogs can tell if a person has cancer just by the smell.

Now then, you most likely are healthy and you probably don't have cancer because if you did you'd have other signs and symptoms besides just body odor. You probably have a problem with your diet and elimination of specific chemicals from your diet. Some people eat certain culturally-specific foods and these people have a specific body odor due to the chemicals in the food which are eliminated through their sweat glands. You might be eating something in your diet that is causing you to eliminate the metabolized food through the pores in your skin. Sweat, perspiration, is a means of eliminating chemicals from the body. These are chemicals which the person's body can't metabolize e.g. some spices or herbs are not capable of the body utilizing and instead of being de-toxed through the person's liver or kidneys they are eliminated through their sweat glands. If you think about it, if somebody were to ingest a large amount of a certain strong spice or strong herb, and they had more in their gastrointestinal system than their intestines, kidneys, or liver could filter, then the person will eliminate the excess chemicals from the spice and herbs through their sweat glands which will make their sweat malodorous. Also, the lungs are another way a body eliminates certain chemicals. This is why some people's breath have distinctive odors e.g. ketone-breath occurs sometimes in diabetics or in people who don't eat enough glucose.

I recommend that you have a physical exam. Also, I recommend that you seriously analyze your diet. Sit down and write down everything you eat and drink everyday, from the time you wake up until you go to bed. Then eliminate one dietary item from your diet everyday, one at a time. If the odor persists when you eliminate one food or spice item, then you can keep eating that food or spice and eliminate another food item or spice until you've found which food or combination of foods causes you to have a bad body odor.

Another problem that some people have is that they are constipated. If you are constipated then you will have a build-up of intestinal bacteria which can cause a fetid odor to your breath and also will produce malodors from your sweat glands since your body is eliminating the waste products through sweat instead of through the bowels. I recommend you try taking 30 cc of Milk of Magnesia at bedtime every night so that your bowels move normally. Eliminate your bowels when you feel the urge instead of holding it in so you don't become constipated.

Sometimes a very acidic sweat can become malodorous when it oxidizes (as it leaves the sweat gland and then hits the air). You might try using a baking soda deodorant. Also, I recommend that you take a bath and soak for at least 10 minutes everyday in baking soda (a half cup) and a tub of warm water. The baking soda in the bathwater will neutralize the acid when you sweat.

I hope these tips are helpful for you. It must be a lonely feeling for you to believe that others are talking about your odor. If they can't help you to solve your odor problem in a friendly and kind way without embarrassing you, then they aren't worth your friendship. A real friend would be helpful instead of talking about somebody behind their back negatively. So, remember, it's not your odor that's the problem, it's their lack of consideration for another human being's feelings that's the problem. Good luck.
