blood in the left ear

My husband has had a clogged feeling on his rt ear . The doctor said there is no infection in his ear and ordered a MRI,we are awaiting the results. Tonight he was laying on the couch and his left ear had a popping sensation and blood came out of the left ear not the right ear...He has been plugging his nose and blowing did he rupture something or is this more serious? Should we take him to the emergency room or can it wait till tomorrow for hid Doctors appt at 2:30 pm Thank you   KAri
