Hi

About a week ago I developed a dull pain in my left side where my Kidney is. It seams to be getting worse and has turned into a sharp pain. Taking Advil helps some. I also am urinating slightly more frequently.
What should I do?

Kevin

Hi Customer (name blocked for privacy). Thank you for asking your question on Just Answer. First a physical exam is required! Only a urinalysis can identify an infection and ideally isolate it's causative organism for effective treatment. If infection is ruled out the physician can examine the prostate, and provide lab work to investigate other probable causes. Examples (just to name a few) include:
Any condition affecting the Kidneys
injury to spine, muscle or cartilage, shingles or several lung conditions or injuries.
