Question

Pain and diagnosis

Sent to Health Experts September 10, 2006 3:35 a.m.

I am a 50 year old white male. I was a hospital corpsman in the Navy between 1973-1977. I contracted Hep C and was discharged with a medical discharge. After almost 30 year the hep c distroyed my liver and now I have cirrohsis. I have been hospitalized about 15 times in the last 2 years for celluitis in both of my legs. My legs are not swollen but are extremely painful, numb and have turned almost black from the mid-thigh to my toes and have been this way for quite some time. I have gone to several Drs. for the pain management of this problem. Since I have liver problems no Dr will Prescribe pain meds. I have tried Lortabs that I took from my wife's purse without her knowing and marijuana which only made me feel goofy. When I lived in Las Vegas, Nv. I had no problem getting pain relief from the VA. Now that we moved to Ohio I am looked at as someone looking for a fix even though if you would look at my legs you wou would know that I am in extreme pain. Not only the issue of pain, but what about a cure for this problem. I have looked up in my Merck Manual and it reads that chronic celluitis can lead to Necrotizing Fasiclitis. Please let me know what your experts think and if their is any Dr in the Cincinnati, Ohio area that is compasionate enough to give me a chance at a quality life again.
