bacterial vaginosis

Hello, I have a question. I have been diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis, about a month ago. I keep getting recurring infections. I will take the full treatment, feel better for about 1-2 days, and have intercourse with my hubby, then again i get the symptoms, is it possible for men to get this also? I asked a nurse at my clinic and she said it was not. They usually do not treat men, what is your thoughts on the subject? Thank you.
