I am a normally healthy 37 yo female with an IUD who has been getting recurrent bouts of bacterial vaginosis. Each time I get an infection my MD issues me a powerful antibiotic. It works for the time being but the infection ends up occuring again. I take good care of myself and do not understand why this keeps happening. I am also concerned because I know too many antibiotics can be harmful. My MD dosen't seem to want to spend the time with me and get to the bottom of this. I have had an infection now for about 3 weeks and am not sure what to do. Medical appointments are expensive and obviously Metradonzole is not the answer. Any suggestions?
