Hello,
Bleeding during passing urine is usually a sign of a severe urinary tract infection or of a stone in the urinary tract. If you have an UTI severe enough to cause bleeding, you will definitely need to take antibiotics to get cured. Meanwhile there are certain things you an do at home for temporary relief:
- Drink plenty of water - at least 10 - 12 glasses to flush out any bacteria from your bladder.
- Drink Cranberry juice - the juice can decrease UTI.
- Make your urine alkaline by mixing a sachet of alkaliser in a glass of water and drinking it. Alkalisers satchets are OTC and available in all pharmacies. An alkaline urine prevents growth of bacteria. It will also decrease the burning of urine .
- Take Motrin 500mg twice daily after food for 5 days to decrease pain and inflammation.
If the blood in your urine is due to a stone in the urinary tract, you will need a special Xray called an IVP which can detect the stone. Please consult a doctor for an early diagnosis.
I hope this helps.
