Sent to Health Experts September 26, 2006 12:03 p.m.

I have been having a stomach ache with vomitting and diarrhea since Sunday night around 8:00pm. I started getting a very full feling in my stomach as if I could almost see it swelling before my eyes. I believe there is a virus going around, is there any medication I should take for this?

Thanks,
Jeni

Hi

Intermittent pain is consistent with overactivity of the gut walls as eould be found in an infectious cause for your symptoms.

Hyoscine tablets 20mg three times per day will help - and are available over the counter as a treatment for motion sickness - however as you have had pain for 2 days it would be in your best interest to be examined by your Dr to confirm nothing else is going on.

If you prefer not to see your Dr then maximise your fluid intake.
If the pain becomes constant seeing your Dr is mandatory.

Any blood thru your loose stools?
