recurrent yeast-type infections withouth discharge

This is not uncommon. Some women, for whatever reason, get recurring yeast infections. It is not known why this occurs, but stress most certainly can be a trigger for these.

I see you have already tried monistat, etc. I think that you should speak with your physician about trying another antibiotic next time you come down with an infection (you might want to speak with them ahead of time - that way you'll have the antibiotic on hand next time the symptoms appear), and also discuss the utility/benefits of taking an antibiotic prophylatically. Some women who get recurrent/frequent infections benefit from taking a weekly dose of diflucan (this is also a popular, 1-dose, oral treatment for yeast infection), and this has been shown in clincal studies to reduce the incidence of recurrence in women who are prone to them.
