I have taken birth control pills for the past 5 years ...

I have taken birth control pills for the past 5 years and have not had any problems. Three months ago I began taking Effexor and for the past two months, my period has begun while I still have a week of my pills left. Last month is lasted for two weeks. Why could this be happening? Is there anything I can do to get back on track?
