This isn't the flesh eating bacteria. MRSA is a form of Staph. The only difference is that it is resistant to commonly used antibiotics. The best treatment for recurring MRSA infections is IV antibiotics, Bactroban nasal antibiotic, Septra, Rifampin, and relieving the infection by way of minor surgery. The prognosis is good once the right regime has been started. To establish MRSA, a swab culture is taken from the wounds fluids. The lab report will show what antibiotics will work best for her.
